Daily Trust reports that a female member of a robbery syndicate that operate by using taxis and buses, called 'One-Chance', in the Federal Capital Territory to dispose unsuspecting victims of their valuables has been arrested by the police in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the FCT.
25-year-old Blessing Opara was nabbed alongside one of her male accomplices while attempting to rob a victim inside an unpainted Toyota Carina vehicle in the area.
It was established that the victim simply identified as Uloma, boarded the vehicle at the Second Gate in Kubwa to the city centre, there were already four passengers in the vehicle, who apparently were part of the gang.
The victim who told the police that she had once fallen prey to one of such ‘one chance' syndicates, became suspicious when passengers asked the driver to stop him around a non-designated bus stop.
Immediately the man made the request, the intended victim quickly demanded to alight from the vehicle but the suspects tried to push her back into the vehicle, at the same time struggling to collect her handbag, when they noticed a police patrol van behind them.
On noticing the police patrol van, the suspects out of panic and fear, rushed out of the vehicle and fled on foot but Opara was not that lucky as the police chased after her and grabbed her and her other counterpart.
