After a 14-year-old suspect in an armed robbery, Gift Peace, and two other adolescents were apprehended with weapons, Delta State police spokesperson DSP Bright Edafe took to social media to pose a crucial question
Edafe questioned if society, the parents, or the school should take responsibility for the children committing such atrocities at such a young age.Edafe claimed in a post uploaded on his X Handle that the suspect admitted to starting to steal after the age of seven during questioning.
In addition to other suspects' photos, he shared one of the suspect and wrote:
‘’ARREST OF THREE TEENAGE ARMED ROBBERS!!!
WHO DO WE BLAME, THE PARENTS, SOCIETY, SCHOOLS!!!
A 14-year-old suspected armed robber Gift Peace 'm' has been arrested at Enerhen junction, Warri by operatives of "B" division Warri. He confessed that he has been in the business of armed robbery since he was seven years old. Arrested alongside him are two other suspects namely; Idigbe Osreis 'm' aged 19yrs and Idigbe Perfect 'm' aged 16yrs. Two locally made guns were recovered from them, Who do we blame, Parents, school, or society?''
