Babatunde Fatai, a fresh Accounting graduate from Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, Oyo State, has shocked the police with his amazing wealth after he was arrested for allegedly robbing his victims of millions of naira through Internet fraud by hacking into their accounts, reports New Telegraph.

Fatai who is awaiting his posting for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), was arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), of the State Police Command at his hideout recently. It was also revealed that he was arrested for robbery and charged to court but was released on bail.

According to a police statement, the young man has in his possession, different exotic cars including an Honda CRV car, a Nissan Altima car, a Ford car, a Toyota Camry car, several buildings, and several millions of naira, all gotten from the proceeds of Internet fraud, having successfully hacked into bank accounts of several innocent victims both in Nigeria and abroad.

The hacker, who narrated how he managed to become an expert in the trade, said during interrogation:
“It is unfortunate that I was caught. I am supposed to go for my NYSC this year, but with what has happened, I doubt if that would be possible.

Defrauding people on the Internet is not an easy task because it requires painstaking effort and building of trust with people before deceiving them to collect their account details which would later be used to hack the account.

At times, I go to dating sites to woo both men and women. I will make sure they fall in love with me by regularly sending love and romantic messages and even calling them until I deceive them into giving their account details on trust.

At times, I send fake email to bank customers, making it look like the one from the bank. There I will request them to change the password, pin code or other bank account security details.

They will be required to input the old and new, but as soon as I get the old password, I use it to hack their account, transfer the money to the person I’m dating abroad who will later send it to me through another means.”

Never share your bank account details with any one especially when you dont trust the emal comes from the bank, bank will not request you to change or update your pin and other security details via email.
