On Sunday, July 3, the police in Kenya's Trans Nzoia County detained a lady for reportedly killing her husband with a kitchen knife after an argument over Sh100
According to allegations, the 29-year-old lady assaulted and stabbed her husband in the chest after she reportedly spent the Sh100 intended for supper on smokes. The woman managed to avoid being lynched by bystanders after the event, according to Matisi Nyumba Kumi officer Paul Ngoya Barasa, who corroborated the story.
"I was heading to Miti Mbili area when I saw a mob beating up the woman who had allegedly stabbed her husband using a kitchen knife,” he told Nation. Africa.
After receiving first aid assistance at a neighborhood pharmacy, the victim was subsequently declared dead when she arrived at Kitale County Hospital.
In a statement, Trans Nzoia County Police Commander Jecinta Wesonga also acknowledged the occurrence.
"The woman rushed to the kitchen, picked up a knife and tried to stab her child, but the husband blocked her. Unfortunately, she ended up stabbing him in the chest," Ms Wesonga told Nation. Africa.
She urged Kenyans to come up with better solutions for resolving internal conflicts.
"Despite living in tough economic times, Kenyans should find reasonable ways to solve their conflicts instead of taking the law into their own hands," she said.
The lady is being detained at the Matisi Police Station as she awaits her Monday arraignment.
The corpse of the guy was taken to the mortuary at Kitale County Referral Hospital in anticipation of a postmortem.
