Rapper's brother charged with rape of minor

Jelani Maraj Nicki Minaj's 37 year old brother was on Thursday, December 3, 2015 charged in Long Island with the raping of a 12 year old child

Female rap star Nicki Minaj has just been hit with some sad news, her 37 year old brother Jelani Maraj on Thursday, December 3, 2015, was charged in Long Island for the raping of a 12 year old child according to reports. He was arraigned for first-degree rape.

He was later freed on a bail of $100,000 today (December 4). 

The details of the case was not revealed to the public by the Nassau County District Attorney.

Nicki Minaj is very close to her brother. 

In August she paid $3,000 for her brother's wedding which witnessed 200 guests.

On the day of his wedding Nicki Minaj gushed about him on Instagram and shared a picture of herself with him.

“I would cross the ocean for u. I love my brother so much man. Can’t believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk. 

May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brothers smile" she wrote.

Nicki Minaj is set to appear in Barbershop : The Next Cut which will hit the cinemas on April 15, 2016.
