Every job has it own occupational hazard but what can be said of this?
In what can be best described as job hazard, a commercial sex worker has been found dead in a brothel in the Bolade, Oshodi area of Lagos State, allegedly strangled by an unknown person suspected to be her last known patron.
The victim identified as Precious, according to her colleagues, had taken the man into her room for an all night sex session but they became worried when she did not come out the next morning, and after several knocks on her door went unanswered, the brothel management was alerted and they broke into the room only to meet her naked dead body, with her neck lying awkwardly, a sign that she may have been strangled
The brothel workers subsequently reported the matter at the Akinpelu Police Division and its detectives went to the brothel and evacuated the corpse and took it to the Mainland General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The matter has also been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, for further investigation while hotel manager and two other workers on duty on the night of the incident had been arrested and detained for questioning over the apparent murder.
A sex worker at the brothel said Precious was suspected to have been strangled with a rope or clothes by her patron, adding that the man fled the hotel before anyone suspected that Precious had died.
"There is no doubt that she was strangled.
There were marks in her neck, which showed signs of a struggle, and she was injured in the head.
The man, who was with her throughout the night, fled the hotel before anyone knew.
The family members of the lady have not been seen.
It was the hotel management that went to report the matter to the police.
The persons arrested are still being questioned over the incident.”
