A mother sets fire to herself and her three children

Helen Vuyanzi, a 35-year-old Kenyan lady, lit herself and her three children on fire in Sirende village, Lugari sub-county, Kakamega, after a disagreement with her husband

While she and two of her children died in the fire, her third child managed to escape by jumping out a window.

The event occurred on Saturday, according to Kenya's The Star.

Vuyanzi had a fight with her husband, according to the newspaper, and they were counseled by police officers led by Lugari subcounty commander Bernard Ngungu before returning home without her husband to avoid additional complications.

According to the police chief, Vuyanzi accused her spouse of cheating after she discovered he was dating another lady.
