Is Meek Mill going to jail?

Maybach Music rapper Meek Mill might be heading back to jail in February for parole violation

It would be recalled that the rapper was in 2009 convicted of drug and gun violation and Mill served short stints in jail and home confinement following his conviction, when he could have gotten five to 10 years in prison.

Meek testified in Philly for more than an hour, and during the testimony he got emotional a few times. Once, while describing how much it hurt not being able to go see his mom in NJ after she had surgery.

All Meek's out-of-state travel has to be approved under terms of his probation.

He also apologized to the D.A. for calling her a "bitch" in his song, "The Ride."

But he really choked up when he addressed the judge directly, saying ... "I'm not a gangsta. I'm not a criminal." He added, "I have my queen, Nicki [Minaj] now. I'm trying to do better and feel like I can be the best rapper out there."

But Judge Genece Brinkley, who had spared him state prison in a 2009 drug and gun case, had heard it all before.

"How many times am I supposed to give him a second chance?" she asked, concluding that probation may no longer be "appropriate." She ordered him not to work or perform before the Feb. 5 sentencing.

The judge appears likely to send rapper Meek Mill back behind bars early next year for a steady stream of probation violations, most involving his failure to keep the court aware of his erratic travels and failing a drug test.

A jail term would presumably stall his career following a year in which the Roc Nation-signed talent has performed with Minaj, Jay-Z and other industry A-listers, and issued his second studio album, "Dreams Worth More than Money."

Until his sentencing, Meek Mill is not allowed to perform at any event even in his home city Philadelphia.

During the hearing Meek Mill revealed that he wants to set his life straight and doesn't want to be a criminal or gangsta anymore.

"I have the potential to be greater than I am today," the rapper told the court.

Last week his girlfriend Nicki Minaj testified, and revealed that they are planning on getting married.

She also said that she would assist Meek Mill with his probation.
