60-year-old man from Kano accused of wedlock to 11-year-old girl speaks up

A 60-year-old man has spoken out following allegations that he wed an 11-year-old girl

Recently, the wedding video of Aminu Danmaliki and the young girl got viral, and people expressed their displeasure.

On his Facebook profile, Danmaliki, however, claimed that his wife is 21 years old, not 11, as had been claimed on social media.

He added that his lovely wife never felt pressured into the union and always made her own decisions.

Danmaliki claimed that although he and his wife had originally chosen to remain silent, they had since been advised to speak up.

He wrote: “My recent marriage with Sakina has generated a lot of tension and unfounded allegations that I married an underage girl, some suggesting she is 11 years old and that she was forced to marry me.

“That is untrue. The Wedding Video went viral. We decided to keep mute but was advised to state the true facts, here it is: My beloved wife is 21 years old she made her own choice of me as her husband and I loved her too.

“I hope the blackmailers and doubting Thomas’s will see the reality in this picture and leave us alone to enjoy our honeymoon.”
