Popular Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi has once more brought honor to her homeland
With her unprecedented Oscar 2023 nomination for her work as a songwriter on "Lift Me Up," one of the soundtracks for Marvel's "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," the singer made Nigeria proud. Together with international artist Rihanna, music producer Ludwig Göransson, and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, Tems co-wrote the song "Lift Me Up."
The whole list of nominees was made public on Tuesday, and the sci-fi multiverse hit "Everything Everywhere All at Once" topped it with 11 nominations.
At nine each, "The Banshees of Inisherin," an Irish dark comedy, and "All Quiet on the Western Front," a World War I film, were to follow.
