Woman bath neighbour with hot water

A nursing mother has been bathed with hot water by neighbour after an argument ensued between them

Mrs. Mabel Enwongomfon–Umoh, a mother of a two months old baby, life has completely been changed after she was bathed with hot water on Christmas eve by her neighbour over an argument that ensued between them.

According to reports the incident happened after one Williams Esther, a angry house help, poured hot water on her victim now suffering from severe burns on her chest, breasts, neck and a part of her face.

Confirming the ordeal by the Isheri division of the Lagos State Police Command, Williams Esther have been arrested and arraign before an Ikeja Magistrate’s court.

“I’m sorry. I was pushed by the devil to do it. I wish I didn’t do it. After I did it, people were beating me before I was arrested. I feel bad. I’m sorry. Everybody in the house makes trouble, not only me,” says Esther in police custody.

The victim has been confined to the hospital bed since the incident and hasn’t been able to breast feed her little baby.

“Sometimes, I would see milk coming out of my breasts, which was a sign that my baby was crying but there was nothing I could do,” says Mabel

The suspect will remain in police custody until she fulfils a bail of N500,000 condition imposed by the court and two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned till March 9, 2016,
