Rene Angelil, husband of veteran singer, Céline Dion, is dead
The singer announced his death, on her Twitter timeline.
Reports say he died after battling with throat cancer
According to People Magazine, the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner said "Mr. Angelil, 73, died of throat cancer at his home in Henderson while under the care of a physician.”
The coroner also added that Angelil died of natural causes.
An official statement obtained from Céline Dion’s Facebook page reads: “It is with deep sadness that we announce that René Angélil, aged 73, died this morning at her residence in Las Vegas after a long and courageous fight against cancer.
The family wishes to live the mourning in privacy. Other information will be provided in the next few days.”
René Angélil was a Canadian singer, and he also acted as a manager to his wife, singer Céline Dion.
Reports say he mortgaged his home to finance Dion’s first record.
Céline Dion aka Céline Marie Claudette Dion, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, first came into limelight in the 80s when she won the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival and Eurovision Song Contest in 1988.
