Teens killed while attempting to take selfie with plane

The zeal for a perfect selfie with landing plane at the background has lead 2 teenaged to their grave

17-year-old Muhammet Bozkurt and 19-year-old Caglar Savasci, were with three other friends who had hired a car for a road trip from Alanya to Antalya, a coastal route in the south west of Turkey.

The two teenagers were killed after lying down in the middle of a road because they were trying to get a selfie with a plane in the background.

Their friends said they had stopped by the perimeter fence of the airport and wanted a selfie of the five of them with landing planes.

But it was dark and an incoming lorry driver didn’t see them. The surviving three friends were able to roll out of the way.

The driver of the lorry called emergency services and autopsies are now due to be carried out. Police statements say the teens had been drinking.
