Popular country singer, Craig Strickland, has reportedly been declared missing
According to Oklahoma’s News9 reports, the singer has been declared missing after he embarked on a duck hunt and his friend, Chase Morland, has been found dead after an ominous tweet foreshadowing their disappearance.
“In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm,” Morland tweeted on Saturday, December 26. Strickland, who is the vocalist for the Arkansas band Backroad Anthem, retweeted the message the same day.
Both friends went missing after embarking on a hunting trip north of Tulsa, in Kay County, Oklahoma. A search was launched on Sunday and a boat the two men were reportedly using was found capsized in the early hours of Monday, December 28. The hunters were not located at the time.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol has confirmed that Morland’s body was recovered around 11:10 Monday, but that the search for Strickland continues.
“Everyone please say special prayers for the family of Morland. They were very close friends and it is such a heartbreaking loss.Randy Strickland (Craig’s father) has informed us Craig has not been found. Please keep praying for his safety,” Backroad Anthem posted on their Facebook page on Monday, December 28.
