The family of Hon. Joe Edionwele, an honourable member of the House of Representatives who was alleged to have connived with her boyfriend to fake her abduction have denied the story.
It seems the dust is not yet settling to the story of this abduction.
It will be recalled that few days ago, the social media was blazing with news that Jessica, who is the daughter of the member of the House of Representatives representing Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency, Hon. Joe Edionwele, had been kidnapped by unknown persons after she boarded a plane to go visit with her father in Abuja.
But barely two days later, another report came out that she actually connived with her boyfriend to extort money from her father.
It was reported that she was found in the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory after someone recognized her in the area and alerted the police.
But now there is another twist to the story, her family members have come out to say their daughter, Jessica is a good girl and was not found with her lover.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Barrister Lucky Eseigbe, said that the lady was actually kidnapped by unknown persons, adding that the reports were fake and meant to embarrass his boss.
Eseigbe said that Jessica was kidnapped after she got into Abuja and was on her way to the family home in the Area 1 district.
“After the family could not get her on the phone, they reported to the police and the police intensified efforts and got information that she was being held against her wish in Lugbe and the person who kidnapped her also contacted Rep Edionwele, who in turn informed the FCT police.
Jessica was rescued from her abductor but never in her lover’s house as online reports speculated. Her fiancĂ©e is out of the country as at when this incident happened. No ransom was paid but for the early intervention of the police, she was not harmed” Eseigbe said.
