Lamar gets out of bed!

Former NBA star Lamar Odom is making incredible strides in his recovery just days after waking up from coma.

In a report shared exclusively by HollywoodLife.com, the 35 year old former NBA star got out of bed for the first time since his hospitalization, according to the report. An amazing feat for someone who was just in a coma!

The former NBA star isn’t letting anyone or anything stand in the way of his recovery as he reportedly got out of bed for the first time since his Oct. 13 hospitalization and was moved to a nearby chair.

Lamar was helped out of bed and walked with assistance to a chair, according to E! News.
During the transition, his breathing showed zero signs of distress, which is a very good sign. Lamar is still wearing an oxygen mask, but he is able to breathe entirely on his own.

Lamar also passed a swallow test after his breathing tube was taken out. That is another encouraging sign that everything is neurologically sound. Right now, he’s communicating with hand signals like thumbs up or thumbs down. He’s been trying to communicate verbally, but it’s mostly mumbles at this point. When he initially woke up, he reportedly said to Khloe Kardashian, “Hey, baby,” after she told him she loved him.

However, Lamar still has a long and difficult road ahead. His kidneys are reportedly failing. HollywoodLife.com spoke to Dr. Harshpal Singh who said that Lamar could “take a turn for the worst,” even after waking up from his coma on Oct. 16.

Lamar was found unconscious in his room at the Love Ranch brothel in Pahrump, Nevada, on Oct. 13. He allegedly overdosed on cocaine and several other drugs, including an herbal substitute for Viagra. The combination of such drugs together can be a dangerous combination.

Khloe, 31, and Lamar’s loved ones have not left his side since his hospitalization. He is surrounded by love, and everyone’s hoping for a full recovery.

It is also reported that Lamar will be moved out of the ICU soon, and his loved ones are planning to send him to rehab once he’s well.

In a related news, it is reported that the NBA star room is overflowing with gifts from fans and colleagues

We continue to hope and pray for Lamar’s recovery.
